Six Sigma Applied to Projects
Six Sigma is a quality improvement methodology. It is often used as an organizational development tool, but easily scales down to fit individual projects. As a PM strategy, Six Sigma improves quality outcomes by improving the processes and procedures involved in the project life cycle. To apply Six Sigma to your project, we will follow the DMAIC model:
- Define: We will define your project goal and identify any existing problems or challenges to achieving said goal.
- Measurement: We will map the people, processes, and procedures involved in the project to set performance measures and expected outcomes.
- Analysis: We will conduct an in-depth analysis of the team performance and project outcomes to identify if benchmarks have been met.
- Improvement: If benchmarks are not met, we will work closely with your team to refine the approach. Then, we will repeat the Analysis and Improvements processes.
- Control: Once your team is consistently meeting the desired outcomes, we will document all processes to ensure the project approach is repeatable.
